Baby, It’s Cold Outside (A Musical Interlude)

I’m a sucker for Christmas. There I’ve said it. I tried not to start singing Christmas songs this early, but failed. The result is this duet (click below) that I recorded with a wonderful singer by the name of Niecy, whom I have never met (by the magic of technology, we recorded this duet, 1000 miles apart!). My Kenyan blood is revolting against the descending temperatures, but there is always song . . . Enjoy!

    (ahem) Dude, I swear we share many interests! I love Christmas so much; by far my favorite holiday! And I must say that the rendition was truly amazing, wow! I think both Niece436 (she’s a natural at singing and showmanship) and ScotchBass (ActingDoctor!) were a perfect duo for this song. I especially loved it at 1:16 and toward the end to boot; it encapsulate the Christmas spirit! I’m already feeling the Christmas vibes… though I quite love the sunny Florida weather at the moment! 🙂

    Where does a future neurosurgeon and OB/GYN find time? It seems, you and your sister are quite the talented bunch (fo sho’)!

    Looking forward to seeing you both (and Niece436) on Broadway musical in the near future!

Time is a mysterious thing; when you find something you care about, you make the time. Music is such a natural way to let my brain ruminate on medicine in the background.     As I helped ready my children for school, they seemed somewhat oblivious to the colder weather that eased in overnight. Then, a subtle reminder from a loving parent: No, not this one… it’s cold outside!

    And it dawned on me that about this time, last year, your readers were spoiled with an early Christmas duet. And, what a deft performance it was! I longed to replay it even in the summer, but I had to calm down a bit. Apparently, we Homo Sapiens must attach an event to, say, the season of the year. Lest, we risk being a forlorn figure (a trace of humor there).

    Anyway, after the subdued spirit (as reported yesterday) of this country, tis’ the season to rekindle warm feelings, even with a song that reminds us that “it’s cold outside.”

    Okay, definitely, in more upbeat and harmonic overtones. 🙂

    Hope you and yours are well as we near the end of 2016: Merry Christmas!
